Developing a strong reasoning for your Research Decisions

Practice working through whiteboard challenge questions for UXR interviews and workshop your ability to think critically about your research process!

When it comes to hiring UXRs, a common thing employers look for is strong critical thinking skills and rationale for decisions. The goal of our workshop is to work through a series of UXR related problems that require us to come up with research plans / studies and showcase how we would select our:

• research goals
• methods
• selection criteria
• limitations
• etc.

Format

• A 1 hour interactive session where we work through multiple UXR interview whiteboard questions and as a group determine how we would answer each one. We will work through questions that were documented to be asked in MAANG companies (Meta / Apple / Amazon / Netflix / Google).
• After our session we will host a 30 minute Q&A on all things UXR
• The session will be recording and can be accessed later

Learning Outcomes

• Develop strong foundations for problem solving as UXRs
• Create strategies for tackling questions and build up confidence during the UXR Interview process
• Have a strong rationale for all of our uxr decisions

About Aadil

I am a Greater Toronto Area based user experience designer and researcher. 

I have had the opportunity to work on products with hundreds of thousands of users and have operated at the highest level of design, servicing customers ranging from bootstrapping startups, to billion+ dollar generating companies. 

Not only do I provide step by step solutions throughout the entire design process, I can also provide both quantitative and qualitative UX Research services. 

This includes research planning, facilitation, and presentation. I can work with you to find the right balance that matches your budget and needs while ensuring we gather the right insights to make the correct design decisions. I am also an award winning UX mentor.

I focus on putting design strategy behind everything I do. I currently work @ IBM as a design researcher and I teach UX design @ Brainstation and most recently, teach design research @ George Brown College
